Coverage & mixing basics
- Each board type has its own R-value per inch: polyiso the highest, then XPS, then EPS, with mineral fiber close to EPS. The energy code sets the R-value; the board type and thickness get you there.
- Count sheets from the wall area plus cuts at openings and corners. Boards come in standard 4-ft widths; confirm the length in stock.
- EPS is the board used inside EIFS assemblies; XPS and polyiso are more common as continuous insulation behind other claddings. Follow the system manufacturer's requirement.
- Mineral fiber board is non-combustible and drains, which is why some specs call for it at fire-rated or rainscreen walls.

Which rigid board should I use behind stucco?+
The one the spec and the stucco or EIFS manufacturer call for. EPS is standard inside EIFS; for other assemblies XPS or polyiso is common. Bring the drawings and we confirm.
Do you sell insulation board by the sheet?+
Yes. By the sheet or by the bundle, in the common thicknesses, with other sizes sourced to order.
Can you deliver insulation board with the rest of my stucco order?+
