Coverage & mixing basics
- Adhered veneer is estimated in flats (square feet) and corners (linear feet). Measure the wall area minus openings for flats and the outside corners for corners.
- Behind the veneer sits the same assembly as stucco: water-resistive barrier, lath and a scratch coat, then a polymer-modified setting mortar. Estimate those layers too.
- Grouted joints add mortar and change the look; dry-stacked stone uses less. Choose the joint before you estimate the mortar.
- Order the whole job from one lot so the color blend is consistent, and pull from several boxes as you set.
