Lath & Reinforcement

The backbone of every scratch coat. Expanded metal and fiberglass lath, stucco mesh and netting, and the ties, staples and fasteners that hold it to the wall — by the sheet, the roll or the box.

What we stock

  • Metal & fiberglass lath
  • Stucco mesh & netting
  • Ties, staples & fasteners

Brands

  • ClarkDietrich
  • PrimeSource

Coverage & mixing basics

  • Expanded metal lath is specified by weight: 2.5 lb/sq yd for most wood- and steel-framed walls, 3.4 lb/sq yd where framing is spaced wider or the code calls for it. Match the spec.
  • Sheets are a fixed size; count them from wall area and add for laps — lath overlaps at every edge and end, so the coverage is less than the sheet size.
  • Fastener type and spacing follow the substrate: nails or staples into wood, screws into steel, and the pattern in the spec. Corrosion-resistant fasteners are required on exterior work.
  • Self-furring lath holds itself off the wall so the scratch coat keys behind it; flat lath needs furring nails. Check which one the assembly calls for.

Guidance only. Coverage, mixing and installation are governed by the product data sheet and the project spec — bring both to the counter and we size the order with you.

Questions crews ask

Do you carry self-furring metal lath?+

Yes. Self-furring and flat expanded metal lath are both in stock, in the common weights, along with fiberglass lath for crews that prefer it.

Which fasteners do I need for lath over steel framing?+

Screws made for lath-to-steel, spaced as the spec requires. Bring the framing gauge and the spacing and we pull the right box.

Do you sell stucco netting by the roll?+

Yes. Stucco netting and mesh are sold by the roll, with the ties and staples to go with them.
